Friday January 22 Mayor Ginger Nelson shared some stunning information on her Facebook page:

Amarillo is leading the nation in vaccination rates!
I’m proud of our planning, execution and ingenuity in doing (with excellence) something that’s never been done before.
Thank you to Casie Stoughton, Public Health Director, and her incredible team for adapting and making daily improvements to the Walk-In Clinic. Every time I have a concern, they have found a solution.
And thank you to every person who has gotten a vaccine. Your patience and suggestions have improved our clinic.
Well done, Amarillo. We are one step closer to a safer city, fewer cases, and lower hospitalization rates.

As of January 21st, 2021, there have been roughly 24.6 million cases and 410,000 deaths from COVID in the United States. Over the last 14 days, daily new cases have decreased by about 19% and daily new deaths have increased by about 12%.

Unfortunately, the City of Amarillo’s COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Amarillo Civic Center has temporarily closed. The walk-in clinic has exhausted the current supply of the COVID-19 vaccine.

As soon as the clinic is able to provide vaccines again, it will reopen.

The clinic is waiting on additional shipments of the vaccine from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
