Amarillo Fire Station #3 To Relocate

The City of Amarillo currently has 13 fire stations.  They are looking to relocate one and decommission one.

Plans are to build a new Station #3 from it's current location to out further to the southwest where the city is experiencing growth.  The current station #3 would be taken out of service and used primarily as an equipment repair and upkeep facility.

It is expect that stations #12 and #13 can adequately cover the area vacated by the relocated station #3.

Funding for the project is estimated at $18 million. Construction is expected to begin in the next 2 to 3 years.
