Man’s Overpriced Airport Bacon and Egg Sandwich Lacks Bacon, Egg and Value
Paying a lot for a little when grabbing a bite to eat at an airport is nothing new, but this is ridiculous.
Graeme Anderson posted a photo of a bacon and egg sandwich he recently bought for roughly $5 at Scotland's Edinburgh Airport, which quickly struck a chord with people on Reddit. To say the restaurant was skimpy on the bacon and egg would be like saying it's annoying to pay baggage fees.
Anderson purchased the sandwich from a chain called EAT. The paltry portion did not sit well with airport officials. A spokesman said this can't happen again:
We work closely with all of our food and beverage providers to ensure we offer customers the best choice of refreshments and service. Sadly on this occasion we fell below the mark and offer our apologies to this customer. Clearly this is not the service we should be providing and we will be addressing this complaint with EAT."
Anderson, meanwhile, didn't even consider complaining because he had low expectations. "I never asked for a refund as I figured it must just be overpriced [bleep] cause it’s an airport," he said.
If the eatery insists on doling out such miniscule meals, it ought to consider appealing to a new clientele, like a certain tiny hamster who'd think it's a nice size to fill him up.
