Tremaine Brown of Shi Lee’s Barbeque & Soul Food has a heart of gold. Ever since the pandemic began he and his family have probably done more for the people of Amarillo than any other.  Keeping his values of giving back Termaine Brown and Shi Lee’s gave away more than 75,000 lunches to hungry folks many who didn’t know where their next meal would even come from. For back to school, he also filled up 1,100 backpacks with school supplies for area kids who are in need.

Our Townsquare family of radio stations recently caught up with Termaine when our co-worker Frank Pain from Abilene set out for his “Ride for Change” motorcycle tour rolled into Amarillo and we met up at Shi Lee’s for lunch. It was truly a wonderful afternoon with some great BBQ and Soul Food along with the heartfelt stories and experiences that Termaine shared with us all. What an inspiring man. His generosity is overwhelming and Amarillo needs to recognize this true local hero.

It was a pleasure to have met you, sir.
