The show that invites you to buy, sell and trade had another successful outing last Saturday.

We bring you the Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon every Saturday morning beginning at 9am. It's want ads on the radio and all you have to do is call.  Of course you are also invited to sit back and just listen.

We were wall-to-wall call this time around and that made for an exciting and fast paced show.  Don't miss your chance to get in on the fun this Saturday.

THE BIG QUESTION

We always ask our callers a poll question before they give their items.  Sometimes it's topical and other time whimsical.  We don't usually go with a multiple choice question but this week we broke from the norm.

What is your favorite color?

Yellow, Pink, Brown, White - each with 1 vote

Purple 4

Green 6

Red 8

Blue 17

A blue audience by a large margin.  I had another question in mind but didn't want to get too political.  I had considered asking, "What scares you more, Ebola or our governments response to it?" but I didn't want to get anyone hysterical.

RULE #6

Along with the regular rules of the program I always bring you a special rule 6.  It changes every week and is usually inspired by something I saw or did over the previous week.

I was perusing the internet the other day and came across something pretty gross.  Have you ever heard of "gauging".  Usually done to the ear lobes, this is where a person regular inserts spacers into a pierced ear, eventually creating a large circle in the lobs.  It looks much like something you would see in a National Geographic.  I find the practice disgusting and not a flattering fashion statement in the least.

I ran across a story where some chuckleheads in Sweden have raised the gauging ante.  They are now gauging the area below their bottom lip.  The eventual huge circle leaves the bottom teeth exposed and whatever food particles are stuck in them.  And this hole won't grow back.

I can't think of one fashion or fad that has lasted longer than 20 years.  Maybe blue jeans.  Much like a tattoo, the likelihood of your station in life changing and the hipness of your permanent disfigurement won't last forever, sad news for the folks with now permanent and disgusting holes in their ears and bottom lips.  Sounds like good fodder for a rule.

Rule #6 Don't adopt a fashion style that can't easily be changed.

See you next Saturday for another Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon!
