If you know us and you know Saturdays, you know what we did over the weekend.

It’s the show that invites you to call in a list for sale pretty much anything except guns and ammunition.  We let the professionals at Erwin Pawn handle those.  We are the professionals for everything else.  We are The Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon and we skin the cat Saturdays from nine to noon.  You are invited to call in this weekend and try your luck.

We ask all our callers a poll question before they give their listing.  It helps us get to know you better and provides a running stream of thought that ties together all our calls.  Being the annual “8% Off Weekend”, you knew we’d have thoughts on the big sale.

The big sale being Tax Free Weekend, of course.  Not needing much of anything that qualifies for tax exemption and with no desire to fight the crowds of people snapping up the things that were, we were not shopping over the weekend.  We wondered if this was the case for you.

Are you shopping for tax free weekend?

Yes 4

No 23

Most of our callers found themselves in a similar situation to those of us on the show, with a few notable exceptions.  The ones that did shop claimed to have already done so for the day.

We go over the rules of the show at the beginning of each hour.  It helps everyone stay on the same page.  Along with the regular five rules of conduct, I always bring you a special sixth rule, that changes every week.  It is usually inspired by something that happened to me over the previous week.

I noticed in the news Coffee Memorial Blood Center was having a tough time finding donors for several types of blood, mainly due to their usually summer slump in donations.  Being a former blood recipient, I decided to lay aside the jokes for at least one week and ask you to donate, if you can.

O-negative, A-negative, B-negative are all urgently needed.  The blood center is at 7500 Wallace Boulevard.

Rule #6 Donate blood if you can.

And make plans to join us this Saturday for another Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon!
