The new face of the Texas Tech Red Raiders football team is a blast from the past.

With the abrupt and unexpected resignation of former head coach Tommy Tuberville the Red Raiders were left searching for a new face to lead their program.

Perhaps in an attempt to recapture the glory days of Mike Leach, Texas Tech has named former  Texas Tech QB Kliff Kingsbury as head coach.  Most recently Kingsbury was the Texas A&M offensive coordinator and helped coach Johnny Manziel to a Heisman Trophy.

Kingsbury was the first in a string of record setting quarterbacks for Texas Tech under former coach, Leach.

Kingsbury has no head coaching experience and at 33, he'll be amongst the youngest head coaches in college football.
