Texas Tech Baseball Regional vs Louisville 2018

The Texas Tech Red Raider Baseball team beat the Louisville Cardinals last night, 10-4, to set up a showdown for a chance to clinch the Regional tonight at 6:00 pm. The Red Raiders will play the winner between Kent State and Louisville.

Saturday night at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park the Red Raiders starting pitcher Caleb Killian fended off early trouble again and again and looked like an ace holding the Cardinals to just two runs on four hits & one walk, while striking out four and stranding seven Louisville hitters on base.

Texas Tech got racked up 10 runs on 10 hits as their offense was on fire scoring 19 runs in two wins during the Lubbock Regional. Brian Klein had three hits in the game while Josh Jung and Grant Little both had two hits and two RBI. Klein and Gabe Holt also had RBI in the win.

Killian gave way in the 6th inning to Ty Harpeneau who was the only reliever Tim Tadlock needed to lock up the game. Harpeneau pitched the final 3.2 innings, four hits and two runs and two walks.

Harpeneau joins Dane Haveman, Ryan Shetter and Connor Queen as the only Bullpen arms used so far in the weekend. Davis Martin will get the start with fresh arms like John McMillon, Jose Quezada and Caleb Freeman looming in the pen.
