KYLE, Texas (AP) — Police in Central Texas have arrested an 18-year-old they believe fired at least one shot at firefighters responding to a blaze in a shed.

The city of Kyle says in a release that after extinguishing the fire early Monday morning, firefighters heard a shot or shots and then heard a bullet hit a wall.

After police in the town just south of Austin determined the shot came from a nearby home, they found a man there asleep in his bed with a rifle.

Jason Montalvo remained Monday in Hays County Jail Monday on a charge of assault on a public servant. Bond on that charge was set at $10,000. An outstanding warrant for possession of marijuana carries a $4,000 bond. Jail officials did not have attorney information for him.
