Texas Dove Hunting Season Is About To Start.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department wants you to know about zone boundaries and more so that you have a great Dove hunting season in 2022 & 2023 as boundaries and laws are subject to change from year to year.
Below are some specifics you need to know about Zone Boundaries and such as detailed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the 2022-2023 Dove hunting season:
Texas Dove Hunting Zone Boundaries
2022-2023 Season Dates
Regular Season Shooting Hours: North, Central and South Zones - Legal shooting hours are one-half hour before sunrise to sunset
Special White-Winged Dove Days: Legal shooting hours are noon to sunset
North Zone
Regular Season: Sept. 1, 2022 - Nov. 13, 2022 and Dec. 17, 2022 - Jan. 1, 2023
Central Zone
Regular Season: Sept. 1, 2022 - Oct. 30, 2022 and Dec. 17, 2022 - Jan. 15, 2023
South Zone
Regular Season: Sept. 14, 2022 - Oct. 30, 2022 and Dec. 17, 2022 - Jan. 22, 2023
Special White-Winged Dove Days
Special Days: Sept. 2, 3, 4, and 9, 10, 11, 2022 (Legal shooting hours are noon to sunset)
Bag Limits
RegularDaily Bag Limit: 15* Possession Limit: 45
Falconry Daily Bag Limit: 3 Possession Limit: 9
*In all zones, the daily bag limit can include no more than 2 white-tipped (white-fronted doves).
The possession limit on white-tipped doves is three times the daily bag limit.
