Steven Speilberg Says Altering ‘E.T.’ Was A Mistake

Steven Speilberg has gone on the record saying the changes he made for the re-release of 'E.T.' was a mistake.

Speilberg says he caved in to parents groups that objected to some of the movie, notably some dialog and changing guns into walkie talkies.

The good news?  The upcoming Blu-ray release of the movie will include the original version of the movie for all you purists.
