In a bizarre turn of events yesterday morning, the Ambassador Hotel in Borger off of 3rd and Florida experienced a rather unconventional guest, a semi-truck. Yes, you read that right. This colossal vehicle decided to take a detour from the highway and bulldoze its way into the side of the hotel.

The Borger Police Department received a call around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday about a semi-truck that crashed into the side of a hotel. Police, fire, and EMS crews were promptly sent to the scene and upon arrival, officials were met with a messy scene. A large section of the hotel was completely destroyed by an 18-wheeler that found itself buried in said hotel. Fortunately, amidst the chaos, the driver, while nursing some non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to the hospital for further evaluation, and no other injuries were reported.

The driver's motive is currently unknown and the situation is still under investigation by officials.

The Borger Police Department's Facebook commented on the situation after all was said and done with a hint of humor behind their statement.

If you’re in the area, please watch for other vehicles because we think there may still be two or three people in town that haven’t driven by to take pictures, so look out for them.

So, next time you pass a hotel, take a moment to appreciate the fact that there's a good chance it doesn't double as a truck pit stop. And if it does, well, make sure to book a room on the higher floors—just to be safe. After all, you never know when a semi-truck might decide to make a grand entrance in search of a continental breakfast.
