Rick Santorum has an amazing surge in Iowa and finishes only 8 votes behind Mitt Romney. He touts true conservatism and in fiscal and social situations and it seems to have been resonating with voters.

Many people thought that Newt Gingrich was going to top the field in the Iowa Caucuses, but it turns out that Mitt Romney pushed his way back to the top with some effective negative ad campaigns run against Gingrich. The real shocker of the Iowa caucuses it that Rick Santorum had huge surges and ended up finishing only 8 votes behind Mitt Romney.

It was a statistical tie between the two and Santorum stated that moving forward it's 'Game On'. He publicly thanked god and his wife for the support that he received in the weeks leading up to the caucus votes.

“Thank you so much Iowa. By standing up and not compromising. By standing up and being bold and leading; leading with that burden and responsibility that you have to be first; you have taken the first step of taking back this country,” Santorum said.
