Amarillo's Animal Management and Welfare Department and the Amarillo-Panhandle Humane Society are hosting an open house tomorrow.

It's been a long road to recovery for the renamed department.  Much work has been done to improve conditions at the facility and new polices have been put in place.  Now you are invited to come check out the progress.

The open house will run from 11am-3pm.  The open house will include reduced adoption fees, reduced microchipping services, vaccinations, and hot dogs.

For Halloween the Humane Society is reducing adoption fees for black animals.  Black dogs can be adopted for $65 and cats are $40.

The first 200 pets in line for microchipping will receive the service for only $15.
