Major Drug Bust At Meth Compound In Town Near Amarillo
Yesterday, on February 13th, 2023, law enforcement officers from the Hutchinson County Sheriff's Office SWAT team, with support from the Fritch Police Department, executed a drug search warrant at 240 Chisholm Trail, a known location for drug activity and distribution that sits outside of Fritch
As a result, three individuals were apprehended on charges of manufacturing and delivering methamphetamine at the facility where they were apprehended.
The officers discovered narcotics, scales, and baggies on the premises, which led to the arrest of Tina Wheeler, Jeffrey Broaddus, and Ty Saucier for their involvement in possession and distribution.
The suspects were taken into custody by Hutchinson County. This operation was conducted in an attempt to combat drug-related crimes and ensure public safety in the area which has been of concern to law enforcement.
In an interview conducted by a local press, a SWAT Officer who was on the scene during the raid explained that throughout investigation had been done on the area due to the large amount of meth that travels in and out of the area.
It's no surprise that drugs like methamphetamine have been a problem in the Panhandle, but to what extent is the question that we should be asking? It is great that in situations such as these, we are able to take down and somewhat cripple the drug trade in our area, but how many others are going on as we speak, and how many more drug traffickers will come up in the absence of major drug traffickers such as these?
The problems stem very deep, and hopefully, our leaders in the Panhandle and its surrounding areas can find effective solutions to rooting out the problems like these that have deep roots in the Panhandle.
