Look: 25 Must See Landmarks On Route 66 From Tulsa To Glenrio
There's nothing like being a kid growing up on Route 66. Massive steaks, massive cowboys, massive everything was everywhere you went.
Here are 25 of the must-see landmarks you find on Route 66 between Tulsa and Glenrio.
We Know We Left Out Some
The first thing that comes to mind is The Big Texan. Yes, it's a major landmark. Yes, there have been all kinds of people show up to take the challenge. Do we need it one more time in a list?
I could say the same for Cadillac Ranch, because we all know it's there. The difference, in my opinion, is the cultural significance of Cadillac Ranch versus Big Texan.
Some Things Aren't There Anymore
For instance, the Roger Miller Museum. Unfortunately, it has been closed permanently.
There have been a lot of things come and go on Route 66. There are motor courts all over the Mother Road that are in a state of absolute disrepair.
I didn't include those either. They have their own big list. This list is for stuff you can drive to and see, and experience, that you might have missed the last time you got your kicks on 66.
Glenrio Gets A Special Mention
Speaking of abandoned and disrepair, I did put Glenrio in here for a couple of reasons. One, it's the last stop in Texas and the first in New Mexico. Two, there's supposedly a second lease on life coming Glenrio's way.
