Local Woman Assaulted – Suspect In Jail

A local woman was assaulted outside her residence in Amarillo on Monday. Luckily her injuries did not require medical care.

A 23-year-old man is in the Potter County Detention Center on a charge of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault after he allegedly followed a woman into her apartment then attacked her Monday, according to Amarillo police.

Pierre Gusman, whom Amarillo police said is a Haitian immigrant from Mississippi, is awaiting a bond hearing on the charge, which is a second-degree felony, police Cpl. Jerry Neufeld said. Authorities arrested Gusman at another apartment in the complex at 2601 Linda Drive.
