Texas Police Pull You Over For Many Reasons, But Not This One
Let's be real, nobody in the state of Texas likes getting pulled over, right?
When those law enforcement lights turn on, and their telling us to pull over, it just stinks. We always wonder what the reason could be as well. Sometimes, we don't even know what they're pulling us over for.
We all space out while driving sometimes don't we? Everyone does it, it's ok to admit. But law enforcement in the state of Texas normally pull an individual over because they, of course, broke a law.
But...is there a possibility that police in Texas can commence a traffic stop because they simply feel like they need to do so?
Police In Texas Starting Traffic Stops Simply Because They Wish To Do So?
Simple answer? No, Texas law enforcement cannot simply pull any Texan over for no good reason other than a feeling. According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram, Texas Police officers must have "probable cause" to do so.
In addition, the Star Telegram states that police can't do these things either during the stop:
- ask for your smartphone to search it
- get answers to the questions they ask you
- search you without permission
But what police can do is run your license plates, to see if you have a warrant. But you may wonder what Texas police can pull you over for. We have them for you here.
Reasons are provided by the Fort Worth Star Telegram.
