These Are The Six Best Places To Trick Or Treat In Amarillo
Halloween has officially arrived in Amarillo, and we're all thinking about where we're going to take the kids out to do a little trick or treating.
One thing we learned quickly about Amarillo when we moved here was not every neighborhood participates in handing out candy, so you have to kind of hunt as to where you go and get that candy.
The first year we were here, we had something going on, I believe it was baseball or something, to where we didn't get out to trick or treat with the kids until later. We pulled up at home for them to change into costumes and realized the street was a ghost town.
No lights on, no kids, nothing. We were perplexed on what to do next.
We decided to hop in the car and just drive around to find somewhere that had activity and call it good. It led us to Puckett. There was some good activity on the streets and a lot of people handing out candy.
Not to mention there were some solid decorations for us all to look at and enjoy.
We've done the 6th Street thing before, and while that was fun, it felt like it was more geared for the adults with the bars and everything open. Enjoyable, but only if you want to make it one of your stops along the way. I wouldn't recommend it being the ONLY place you bring them trick or treating.
Our favorite by a mile is heading into Wolflin. It's one of the best Halloween experiences I've ever been a part of. It seems half the houses in the area are decorated to the max, everyone has candy, and there's even a house that brings out a live band each year.
You can spend literal hours out there and STILL not cover the entire area, but man those kids get loaded down with candy. It's where we'll be once again this year.
Some other great places you can trick or treat where it may not be AS busy as Wolflin would be the neighborhoods of Windsor, Greenways, The Colonies, and Sleepy Hollow. They're all on our list to try out one of these years.
