One thing we're big on here in the Texas Panhandle is nostalgia. Here in Amarillo, one of the things that makes us feel like that is Route 66. When you're talking about nostalgia, there is nothing better. So much history when it comes to Route 66, but because of that nostalgia, it makes us crave even more.

Things like old school soda shops are something we crave. Not just for the soda, but the atmosphere. Growing up, I remember those candy shops that had any and every kind of candy you could imagine. You'd grab bags and load up with everything you want. Well, there are a few places like that here in Amarillo & Canyon.

Rockin' Zebra Soda Shoppe

Located in Canyon, Rockin' Zebra takes all those old school feels and jams them all into one shop. Old school diner food, the custom craft sodas, and yes, they've got the candy selection for you to go through.

Another thing they have are collectible style items you can purchase, such as Funko Pop figurines and other things. If you want it all in one, this is your spot.

Groovy Pop

Known more for their different styles of popcorn, Groovy Pop also carries some different styles of candy you could find in those old-school candy shops. Furthermore, they just announced on their website that Candy Cadet is now a part of their family!

What does that mean? Well, it's going to improve the candy selection at the store and give you even more options to choose from.

Canyon Popcorn Company

Don't let the name mislead you, because Canyon Popcorn Company is far more than just popcorn. In fact, they might have the best overall candy selection when it comes to those old-school favorites you're looking for.

They've got plenty of the newer or more common candies as well, but if you're looking for those nostalgic candies, I'd definitely check this place out.
