Is it just me or are people across the state of Texas ready for a real cold front to push through the state? Sure, temperatures have cooled off since the hottest of hot summer days in the state, but most of Texas is still sweating in the early days of fall. But late next week, some real changes are being predicted.

A cold front is expected to sweep into Texas during the middle of next week. When I say "cold front", I don't mean cold as in highs around 20 degrees. Instead, here in Lubbock the weather forecast calls for rain and high of around 71 on Wednesday. Of course today is Friday, and the forecast could change. But as of today, high's on Monday and Tuesday look to be in the upper 80's, then drop into the low to mid 70's beginning Wednesday.

So while it may not be sweater weather, it will feel cooler outside.

Other parts of the state will cool down as well including DFW, Austin, and San Antonio.

While we will be enjoying low to mid 70's in Lubbock, San Antonio is looking at high temperatures in the low to mid 80's which is cooler than what they have had according to KSAT.

So Texas, get ready for some much needed cooler weather.
