To say that Amarillo is full of interesting people is an understatement. We have had a lot of great people call this their home. From athletes to actors, Amarillo has been the stomping grounds for many who have gone on to do a lot.

One talent I deeply admire is the ability to write a book, and while I write these articles every day, trust me, it’s a completely different world. To be honest, I never even liked to write, so the idea of writing a book from start to finish and having the material for such is amazing.

I have always been told that my life would make a very interesting book, but alas, see above. It will never happen. Doesn't mean that I don't end up knowing a lot of authors. Amarillo has a lot of creative people who like to put those thoughts down on paper.

I recently learned about a fascinating local author duo who write under a single combined pen name: Dennis Riley.  Dennis Riley is actually James Riley and Eric Dennis.

James works for the City of Amarillo, and Dennis is a school teacher. But they decided in their spare time to write books. They have actually written two already and are about to release the third in the trilogy.
