How are you planning to celebrate the long 4th of July holiday weekend? This Independence Day will be like no other with celebrations cancelled and many of our favorite holiday traditions not happening this year. The Don Harrington Discovery Center has announced they will not be holding their annual EXPLODE event, but don't worry, they still have some 4th fun planned for us.

The Discovery Center will be open on Friday, July 3, with special activities and demonstrations to start off the holiday weekend. Live science demos include the Exploding Melon, Mentos Geysers, Fire Breathing, Fire Bubbles, a Tesla Coil, and exploding Trash Can Chaos. The Space Theater will be open with an 11:00am show called "Grossology," and a 12:30pm show called "Earth to the Universe."

While you are there, you will also be able to create and take home your very own Firework Salt Art. Admission will be the general admission price and you can purchase in advance online or in person. The Discovery Center will be closed on Saturday the 4th, so make sure you get in on Friday to have some fun with the whole family.
