Zach Avery lives in Britain and he is five years old.  He has been feeling like a girl since he was three.  Doctors diagnosed him with Gender Identity Disorder at four.  And at age five he lives as a she.

Zach is one of the youngest if not the youngest ever to be diagnosed with the disorder that sees patients feeling like the are one sex trapped in the body of the other.

In the beginning his parents thought he was autistic and sought professional help.  After the diagnosis his parents have allowed him to live, dress and develop as a girl.  Even to the extent of petitioning and receiving help from her school changing the restrooms to unisex.

Figures from the Tavistock and Patman Foundation Trust clinic, the UK national body for GID - revealed 165 children have been diagnosed with GID this year.
