SAN DIEGO (AP) — Bob Filner has been sentenced to three months of home confinement and three years of probation for harassing women while he was mayor of San Diego.

The former 10-term congressman learned his punishment Monday in a San Diego courtroom, two months after pleading guilty to one felony and two misdemeanors. The felony was for putting a woman in a headlock, and the other counts were for kissing another woman on the lips and for grabbing the buttocks of another.

The judge's sentence was the same as what prosecutors recommended in a plea agreement with Filner.

The 71-year-old former mayor was San Diego's first Democratic leader in 20 years. He has kept a low profile since leaving office in August, less than nine months into a four-year term.
