For a lot of us, space has always been something that inspires awe and wonder. From watching man land on the moon, to watching Tom Hanks in the Apollo 13 film, space missions have always captured our imaginations.

Today, for the first time in almost a decade, American astronauts will be launching in an American made ship from American soil. It makes me feel like a kid again, watching the mission launches. It happens at 3:33 PM our time.

Elon Musk's SpaceX is leading the launch today, with NASA offering support. If all goes well with today's launch and the mission as a whole, we could be seeing a return to manned missions to space from the U.S.

Missions to the moon have even been hinted at.

SpaceX has designed the rocket that will be used for today's launch. They have also designed the suits the astronauts will be wearing while they make their way to the International Space Station.

The launch is scheduled to take place at 3:33 PM our time. That is, of course, if the weather cooperates. There are contingency plans in place if the launch today has to be called off. The launch could take place either Saturday or Sunday.
