Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon Not Optimistic About Fireworks

We had another exciting Saturday of buying, selling and trading on The Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon.

It's the show where you can buy and sell pretty much anything except guns and ammunition.  That's what Erwin Pawn is for.

We were busy once again and we appreciate all our callers.  If you can't call we invite you to at least listen.  You'll probably hear about something you can't live without.

THE BIG QUESTION

We ask all our callers a poll question before they list their items.  This week we are thinking a lot about Independence Day.  With conditions being so dry we figure it's going to take several days straight of rain to make conditions safe for fireworks in July.  We wanted to know what you thought.

Will there be fireworks this July 4th?

Most people agree, it's just too dry for fireworks this year.

RULE #6

Along with the regular rules of the program I always bring you a special Rule #6 that changes every week.  It is usually inspired by something that has happened to me over the previous week.

Friday night I attended Amarillo College's graduation at the Civic Center.  Our very own typist, Porky walked the stage along with former Trade-A-Thon typist Katilyn G.  I went with my mom.

We left for the Civic Center about thirty minutes early for the ceremony but ran into bumper-to-bumper traffic right off I-40.  We almost rear-ended someone!  It was pretty dangerous driving and it made me think of a rule.

Rule #6: Leave very early for events at the civic center.

It's always a good rule to be early.
