Deadly Austin Laundry Dispute Ends With 7 Year Sentence
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for a slaying after some of his clothes turned up missing from a Central Texas laundromat.
A jury in Austin earlier Monday convicted 29-year-old Brian Ross of murder. An attorney for Ross, who faced up to life in prison, says his client was protecting himself during the November 2012 fight outside a laundromat.
Investigators say the body of 33-year-old Adam Gonzales was found in the parking lot.
Prosecutors said Gonzales had been drinking when Ross approached him about the missing clothes. Investigators say Gonzales began hitting a woman who was with Ross before the men started fighting.
