City Of Amarillo reopening COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Monday
The City of Amarillo hosted a successful COVID-19 vaccination effort Saturday morning. while the clinic was held, city officials made the announcement that an additional 5000 vaccine doses have been received, allowing the clinic to operate once again at the north exhibition hall of the Amarillo Civic Center starting Monday at 9am.
Those who are eligible include groups in the 1A and 1B statewide designation which includes frontline healthcare workers, long term care workers and patients as well as citizens 65 or older and those over 18 with underlying medical conditions who could develop complications from contracting COVID-19
Among the more common underlying conditions: (not a complete list)
- Cancer
- Chronic kidney disease
- COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
- Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathies Solid organ transplantation
- Obesity and severe obesity (body mass index of 30 kg/m2 or higher)
- Pregnancy
- Sickle cell disease
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus
The clinic will be held at the North Hall of the Amarillo Civic Center at 401 S. Buchanan. Appointments are not needed and are on a walk in basis.
