Prison has got to be rough.  Especially if you're in a Chinese prison.  They make you do things that are just sick.

According to a story by PC Mag, Chinese prison laborers have been forced into 12-hour marathon gaming sessions mining virtual money to sell it for real currency on the streets.

This is not the first time we've seen such activity.  Anytime you create an online economy you run the risk that some people won't be playing the game to play, they are playing to make money.  Many a gamer would forgo the experiences of actually working for their virtual money, it's much easier to just buy it off Ebay.

So the next time you come up against someone you can't beat in an online game it might not be a 12 year old with too much time on his hands.  It could be a Chinese prisoner with way too much time on his sentence.
