We love Bert. We love Bill. Like we REALLY love these two. They're two of the funniest people in the world. We love it, even more, when Yellow City gets a little love.

Today, while listening to the latest episode of the Bill Bert Podcast, I heard Bert give Amarillo yet another shout out. This time, it was over our use of masks or lack thereof our use of masks.

The conversation started with Bill Burr and Bert discussing the number of people actually working in the U.S. right now. Bert is currently on tour and brought up a recent stop through Amarillo.

Bert says that his crew told him that pretty much no one was wearing masks, and people were working. It was like nothing had happened. It didn't lead to either one of the guys chastising us for not wearing masks.

Instead, it led to a discussion about restrictions still in place in some places while others seem to be doing fine.

Here's the episode. Skip to about the 9-minute mark to hear Bill and Bert talk about Amarillo.

Later, Bert mentioned watching one of the recent storms roll in while having a drink overlooking a lake in Amarillo.

It was interesting hearing an outsider's perspective on how Amarillo is dealing with the pandemic. I've told several friends of mine that live in other places that Amarillo really does feel like a place that has just decided to "move on" from it and get back to normal.

I know that's not the case for everyone. My wife and I have several friends who have tested positive for Covid-19, and it's heartbreaking to hear what they're going through.

Still, I'm seeing fewer masks when I'm out in public and social distancing doesn't seem like much of a worry to most people anymore.

Thanks to Bert for the shout out, and for stopping by Amarillo.
