Amarillo’s BSA Hospital Named One Of The Top 20 In Texas
When it comes to medical care, we all want the best! And here in Amarillo, that is exactly what we have. US News & World Report has announced their top hospital rankings across the country and in every state. In Texas, our very own BSA Hospital comes in at #17 for the state. This is a huge honor since 585 hospitals were evaluated just here in Texas.
US News & World Report says that BSA is rated high performing in 3 adult procedures and conditions. Those procedures and conditions are chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), colon cancer surgery, and heart failure. There are a total of 9 items on the list, and BSA scored average or better on each. That's great news for anyone who is nervous about being admitted to a hospital.
U.S. News estimates that nearly 2 million hospital inpatients a year face the prospect of surgery or special care that poses either unusual technical challenges or significantly heightened risk of death or harm because of age, physical condition or existing conditions. The rankings are a tool that can help such patients find sources of especially skilled inpatient care.
