Amarillo Man Injured In Construction Accident

A man working on a downtown building was seriously injured yesterday in a fall.

The Amarillo Police Department say the incident occurred around 1:30pm when a 22 year old man fell into an open elevator shaft while bringing in supplies for the construction going on at the 1000 block of South Polk.

The man's name was not released but he fell 30ft and was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
