Amarillo Man Attempts Robbery Without Stealing Anything
Well, well, well, looks like we have another brilliant mastermind in the world of attempted Amarillo robberies. Because it's not like Amarillo doesn't have enough real robberies for APD to deal with.
Give it up for the man who walked into Dillard's at Westgate Mall around 7:15 p.m. last Saturday and yelled, "this is a robbery! Everyone get on the ground!" Only to leave empty-handed like a complete failure.
The scare caused by the "robber" made bystanders go into hiding, believing that this could be a real attempted robbery, but thankfully their worries of a violent robbery did not come true.
The good news is that no one was hurt during this ridiculous attempt at robbery. The bad news is that we now have to add one more criminal to the list of people who have no clue how to commit a crime correctly.
Amarillo police are now on the hunt for this "robber" who forgot that robbing a store requires actually taking something valuable. I mean, why bother stealing cash or merchandise when you can just scare the living daylights out of innocent shoppers?
In conclusion, let's hope that the Amarillo police catch this wannabe robber and bring him to justice. Or maybe just give him a participation trophy for his effort when he is behind bars. After all, it takes a certain level of stupidity to attempt a robbery without actually stealing anything.
So next time you consider faking a robbery just remember that it's all risk, no reward and that's just not worth it.
