Amarillo Getting New Assisted Living Community

A Dallas based developer has announced plans to build a new assisted living community in Amarillo.

The new facility will be a 63,000 square foot complex called "Heartis Amarillo", a play on the phrase 'home is where the heart is'.  Bulldozers have already begun work moving dirt at the construction site.

The facility will feature 54 assisted living suites and a 35 bed memory care unit.  Being able to serve 89 patients will help take the pressure off the crowded existing facilities in the panhandle.

Heartis Amarillo will feature a theaters, 50's style diner and more.  The facility is expected to open next fall.
