7 Of The Best Spots For Fried Fish In Amarillo

So after meditating on our lack of a Long John Silver franchise in Amarillo Texas, that got me thinking. Where can I get some good fried fish on Fridays during Lent, or really just anytime throughout the year?

It's a pretty simple question but one that required me to dig around a little bit. So after doing some digging around, I found some of Amarillo's best-fried fish joints so you don't have to.

Here's what I came up with

North Heights Discount & Cafe

If you are willing to make the trip deep into the depths of North Amarillo, this is the prize waiting at the end of your journey. According to the word-of-mouth reviews on Facebook, its 4.9-star ranking on google, and its 5-star review on yelp, this humble little discount store/cafe is the bomb.

Lazy Gator 

Sams Southern Eatery 

Tucked away on Tuckla and Paramount, I can't lie. Prior to doing to research I've aways glanced a Sam's Southern Eatery from time to time, and wondered to myself "how good is that place's fish". Sadly I've never made my rounds to Sams until recently and let me tell you personally, you will not regret trying it out.

Fat Cats 

These guys have been around off of Dumas Drive for a while and for good reason. Now named "Freddies" most know this fish joint by its old name "Fat Cats".  Regardless of the name change the quality of its fried fish, more specifically its fried catfish has undoubtedly remained one of the best that you can get in the West Texas area.

Delvins

If you are looking for some soul food, you've come to the right place, if you are more specifically looking for some good fried fish well, you've also come to the right place.

Shi Lee's BBQ and Soul Food 

Another soul food contender for best-fried fish in Amarillo. And once again, the reviews for this place speak volumes for the quality and authenticity of this food.

United Supermarkets Deli

Probably one of the few places that are not locally owned that I will include in this list. If you've ever gotten anything from the United Supermarket deli you'll find that they actually have a pretty solid sandwich, fried chicken plates, and of course, fried catfish.
