4 Year Old Boy Dies In Train Wreck After Truck Was Driven Across The Railroad Crossing
A 38-year-old man driving a 2002 Dodge 1500 was struck by two Burlington Northern Santa Fe trains and left a 4-year-old dead near a railroad crossing at Eastern Street just South of Amarillo Boulevard. Police said that alcohol was a factor. The 38 year-old-man was traveling with his son and pulling a horse trailer that had his horse inside. Witnesses told police they saw the truck attempt to maneuver across the train crossing barricade.
The 4-year-old, who police said was the only passenger in the pickup, died at the scene. A statement from Sgt. Leslie Supina said.
"We won't be able to charge him until he's been discharged from the hospital and so we're not going to be able to identify who he is until we get him charged," Supina said.
This is so sad our prayers are with the little boys family, but it leaves me wondering why the little boy was the only one still in the truck. Was he left there?
