SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Two San Antonio police officers have been put on administrative duty after the in-custody death of a theft suspect.

The Bexar (bayr) County Medical Examiner's Office on Thursday identified the man who died as 25-year-old Jose Franco.

The San Antonio Express-News (http://bit.ly/1nen8mm ) reports Franco on Tuesday afternoon was suspected of committing fraud or theft at store, then fleeing.

Investigators say one officer used a stun gun and pepper spray on Franco, plus hit the suspect with a baton.

Another officer arrived and helped subdue Franco, who was transported to a hospital for treatment of an elevated heart rate. Medical personnel had to do CPR on Franco, who died about two hours after the police confrontation.

San Antonio police are reviewing the incident.
