Pantex Ordered To Shut Down

The government shutdown is affecting Pantex.

Pantex received notice from Washington to plan for a 'holiday like' status or essentially, an orderly shutdown.

The 'holiday status" will be treated much like the Christmas holiday, with little work being done to weapons but security and other essential services would remain on duty.

Depending on how long the shutdown last it could have a dramatic impact on the local economy.

Pantex employs around 1,000 people but the company is not saying how many workers could be effected.
