It's always fun to look back and see what was happening in the Texas Panhandle on Thanksgiving Day during different years and eras in our history.

I ran across a treasure trove of pictures of old newspapers from Thanksgiving Day.  The oldest I could find was from 1906.  It was The Weekly Herald, and one of the headlines was the "End of the World is Near."  Even back in 1906 people thought the world was ending and here we are 116 years later and the world still turns.

Some of these newspapers spoke about Thanksgiving and activities happening that day.  Others spoke of the news of the world happening on Thanksgiving Day.

The Canadian Record from Thanksgiving 1960 showed a picture of a young boy holding a turkey by its feet in one hand and a shotgun in the other.  Many how times have changed.
