Test Drive Joyride Lands Three Amarillo Residents in Childress County Jail

I'm old fashioned. When I go shopping around for a new vehicle, I do it the good ol' traditional way.

Set a budget. Check the classifieds. Ask around amongst automobile-minded friends. Go to a few reputable(ish) dealerships. Select a few likely candidates. Take one I like on a test drive.

Bring the car back from the test drive. 

Very conservative of me, yes I know. But that's just me. Other people like to take a 1989 Bronco for a "test drive" just shoot straight down US-287 till they run out of gas in Childress, stir up a little criminal activity and get thrown into the Childress county jail before sunset.

Nothing Good Happens When It's A 1989 Bronco

Listen. when I see a Bronco surrounded by that many cops, i start looking for OJ Simpson. If You don't get the reference, the you're probably not keeping up with the Kardiashans.

Moving on. On Thursday, December 1, a 1989 Bronco was surrounded by law enforcement in Childress, Texas. Not just any 1989 Bronco, of course. A stolen 1989 Bronco.

Two women and a man walked into HD Motors the day before and went through the process to take the vehicle out for a test drive......and simply did not return.

I'd make a jab about asking $5,000 for a vehicle that amounts to a rusty nail with wheels...and I just did. But it made it off the lot and that's the most important part.

And once they were off the lot, they hit the open road of US-287.

Until They Ran Out of Gas In Childress, Texas

They made it to Childress, Texas before running out of gas. They didn't make it far, but they made up for that with ambition and theft from the two closest establishments they could visit.

Law enforcement was quickly called. They arrested Thomas Charles Moore (22), Mychaela Cheyenne Fraser (24), and Regina Fraser (47) of Amarillo and booked them into the Childress County Jail. Each are charged with one count of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and two counts of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, as per the Childress County Sheriff's office.

It Gets Better. A Whole Lot Better

Now look. The unauthorized use of a moving vehicle charge? Sure. The Engaging in Organized Crime?

Pleaaaaaaase. If you can't organize your stolen vehicle at least three hours down US-287 then I don't want to hear it......but wait.

Wanna hear what was in the stolen vehicle?

Yes, of course you do.

Moore had recently been put on probation in Randall County for the offense of impersonating a public servant (I will assume it was a police officer for reasons you will soon discern). I know this because he left his court papers in the Bronco.

Right on top of his court papers was something I chuckled over when I realized what it was.

Whoever works at Randall County probation department and sees this.....you're welcome.

And while having one's mugshot printed off might be questionable as to taste, I'm more confused as to why they went onto mugshots zone website, rather than directly to the source? It's all public information, after all.

There were plenty more jewels within the Bronco that I should show you but this seems like quite enough.
