Police Nab Suspect in Massive Amarillo Greyhound Drug Bust
I swear, we can always count on a good story from the Amarillo Greyhound bus station. I'd say roughly once every three to four months, we hear about SOMETHING happening either at the bus station or with a Greyhound somewhere in Amarillo.
I mean, how can we forget about the guy who attempted to hijack a bus just a little over a month ago here? The excitement always keeps us on our toes.
The Latest Bust In Amarillo
Well, away we go again, as we've managed to land yet another huge drug bust at the Amarillo Greyhound Bus Station. This one involves Damian Galindo-Huerta and a bunch of heroin that isn't going to make it to its final destination.
As they like to do at the Greyhound station here, police had the dogs out doing a free air sniff test on luggage from the bus. The K-9 sniffed a bag and alerted police to the bag. When they opened it up, it was an early Christmas gift.

Heroine For Days
Inside the bag, police found three packaged bundles of heroin, neatly wrapped in brown tape. The overall take? How about 3.4 kilos of heroin? No word on the street value of the drugs, but Galindo-Huerta did give some insight into his job.
He started in Nogales, AZ., and was on his way to New Orleans with the drugs, where he was supposed to exchange the drugs for $120,000 to bring back. For his efforts, he would receive $10,000. Unfortunately, he won't be receiving any money as he was taken in and charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin.
