For many Texans, dealing with traffic is something they deal with day in and day out. But let's be honest, not all traffic is the same. Some cities have much worse traffic than other cities and some roadways in Texas are very, very busy. But which roadway is the busiest in Texas?
According to Lonestarlive.com and it won't come as a surprise to anyone, the state's 10 busiest, or most congested roadways were located in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and of course Austin. The report comes from data compiled by the Texas A&M Transportation Institute.
According to the data, three of Texas' top 5 congested roads are located in Harris County. The busiest roadway in Texas according to Lonestarlive is located in Harris County. Houston's I-610 West Loop Freeway from the Katy Freeway to Southwest Freeway.
Researchers found that traffic delays were longer by 7% in 2022 than in 2021. And if sitting in traffic cost drivers money, the reported said that traffic on the busiest road in Texas cost drivers over $120 million in 2022.
And if you get annoyed by traffic as most people do, it is pretty easy to assume that I-610 in Houston is the most annoying roadway in Texas. Of course, if you live in Houston, maybe you are used to the traffic at this point.
