One of the growing problems in America seems to be possession of child pornography. When you look at the mugshot pages on Facebook or just read the news in general, you'll notice that it's been popping up a bit more lately in the Panhandle area.

Normally it's something where you see one or two counts of it, and it's typically a possession charge only.

However, a Lubbock man apparently has attempted to take it to the next level, and he's now been caught by the authorities.

Eric Saldivar has been charged with not one, not two, but TEN counts of possession of child pornography, which in itself is a harrowing number of charges. He managed to land himself two more charges on top of those though, and they might be the scariest ones of all.

Saldivar was also hit with possession with intent to promote child pornography...and bestiality.

The intent to promote charge would insinuate that he had planned on sharing the items he was in possession of, or something worse than that. We don't know exactly what Saldivar had on his computer, we just know it was serious enough to hit him with this many charges.

The bestiality one is VERY concerning, especially when you tack it on to the other charges he's already facing. Again, we don't have a lot of information on this yet, so we don't know if he just had photos or videos of it, or if he was actually committing the bestiality himself.

Either way, it's a reminder to all of us with children to remind them not to take any kind of photos or videos of themselves that would potentially grab the attention of those who are into that sort of thing.

Sometimes these people have a mental problem that clouds their judgment, sometimes they just have a fetish for something that is illegal. Sometimes these children are victims of trafficking or kidnappings. I don't know if there will ever be a way to stop it, but it serves as a reminder that these people could be living right next door to you.

Please stay aware and vigilant with your children.

Amarillo On 'America's Most Wanted'

I was surprised to find out recently that we also have a bit of a history with the show America's Most Wanted.

Digging through old news articles, I found several separate occasions where Amarillo and America's Most Wanted crossed paths. It makes me wonder if there are some that I've missed.
