Amarillo’s Year of Ups and Downs: One Local Business Turns a Sale Into a New Opportunity
It's been a year of ups and downs in Amarillo. Nobody has felt it more than the local businesses. It seems there have been several who have jumped onto social media asking for help.
It's great that there is an outlet to let people know when the business is hurting. It's better to know and try to jump in to help than to be blindsided by finding out the business just closed with no warning.
The Challenges Facing Local Amarillo Businesses
In the ups and downs of this year, there is one local business that has decided to sell. The end of the year is tough, and Leaf & Bubble made the tough decision to sell their business and let new owners take over.
Leaf & Bubble was the product of Brooke Skypaula and Anna Hogue. They had a couple of locations in Amarillo. The most recent location was at the Shops at 34th. After five years, they decided to sell.
Ownership Changes and the Shops at 34th
It was just earlier this year that Patty Schniederjan took the reins over at Leaf & Bubble. Back in 2022, she had sold The Acai Bar at 34th and Coulter. So she was looking for something different to do. Earlier this year, she took on Leaf & Bubble.

Some tough times hit back in September when they took to social media asking for some help. The gentle reminder that they were there and needed Amarillo's support. The Amarillo area stepped in to help. We are good about that.
Unfortunately, it was not enough, as Patty still decided to sell. The last day of her ownership was over the weekend. The new owners are going to take over and keep some things the same, but change up others.
What Stays and What Goes: Menu Expansion Details
They will be keeping the Boba and all of the drinks. They are looking to add food to the mix. The new additions will include soups, possibly sandwiches, and other items. They are also looking to have some vegan options.
So Leaf & Bubble will still be around, it just may look a little different.
