Dasher Diary: Amarillo Dashers Beg Customers: Add Business Names to Orders

Weekly I come up with a story to tell about my adventures while I am out delivering food in Amarillo. Sometimes some really cool things happen and the idea is easy to write about. Then there are weeks that are a struggle because the deliveries are just normal and nothing to write about.

Why Business Names Matter for Delivery

That is where I was for this week's story until I received a text from another Amarillo Dasher.

I'm cranky today so excuse me. I'll be so glad when people learn to put the name of the business/hotel in addition to the address. - Kristen

The Dasher’s Biggest Frustration

She had reached a point of frustration and I totally felt her stress. I am not sure if customers get this or not but you will get your food faster if you give us all of the information needed.

Just tell me it's Memory Care, or name of apartment or hotel. Ninety percent of the time if they'll just put the name of the place I can get there without even thinking about it. - Kristen

I know I have said this before but I will scream it for those in the back. If we are delivering to a business, hotel or apartment in Amarillo please for the love of all that is holy give us the one piece of information that we beg of you.

Please give us the name of said business, hotel or apartment. Do you know how much that one piece of information saves us? We might not recognize your address but we will recognize the name.

If we have the name we won't have to get to a strip mall and drive down it creepily slow trying to find the address or suite number. We can easily find the business name. Your food will be to you so much faster.

How Missing Info Slows Down Orders

You might be at a hotel surrounded by several other hotels and knowing which one gets us there in a flash instead of hoping our GPS takes us to the right spot. Oh, and here is a heads up the GPS through these delivery apps love to take us to the wrong place a lot of the time. Again that is when knowing the name would guarantee a smoother delivery.

The Easy Fix for Faster, Hotter Food

We don't care where you put this information. It can be in the address section or it can be in the delivery directions we don't care, just make sure we have that vital information. This could be the difference between you eating hot food or gross cold food. I promise we want the food to you as soon as possible too. We want to get on to our next delivery. Help us help you.
