Amarillo’s Newest Sign Has All of the Official Answers

One of the questions we answered a while ago in Amarillo is about the old China Star location. Once China Star closed and took away its buffet everyone wanted to know what would be next. It had to be one of the most asked questions.

We have passed on the information that the new place would be a hibachi place. We have known for a while that it would be called Yanagi Hibachi. Still, the questions would come and we would answer them.

I think those questions will finally stop. With all of the work we have seen them doing on the building, the one thing they never touched was the signage. The China Star was still up. There was also no signage on the remodeled building. So that still led to so many more questions.

Those questions are now done with the addition of what everyone has been waiting for. Signs are now up. Those questions are now officially answered. It is in fact going to be Yanagi Hibachi.

The signs are up. The remodel may be close to being done. You can drive by and not even notice that it used to be a China Star. I can only imagine what it looks like inside. A total do-over.

No word, yet, on when they plan to open. Earlier reports were they wanted it open by the end of the year. That could still happen. Hopefully, the inspections are underway. We know how that tends to slow down the process. We could have Yanagi Hibachi open pretty soon. We can only hope.
