It's been a while since I added to this category in Amarillo. There are just some deliveries that seem to make no sense at all. The distance that the delivery service wants us to make when there are closer and better options.

I was out delivering the other day when this prize came up. I was sitting in front of the Five Guys on Georgia Street. That is usually where I sit and wait for my first order of the day. I got an order that I accepted and was on my way to make some money.

You have to remember this is DoorDash and they don't always make a lot of sense in their deliveries. Oh no, not at all. They had me heading to the KFC on Ross Street. So totally out of my way.

I had to drive about seven minutes from where I was to pick up the food. Not a big deal except that then I had to double back to make it to the delivery. So what could have been a quick twenty-minute delivery from Georgia Street down 34th to the KFC there and down to Soncy, was not that.

It was me on Georgia Street then jumping on I40 to Ross Street then back on I40 to Soncy and then fighting that traffic. What should have taken me twenty minutes was stretched out to at least forty minutes.

The good news is I was signed up to be paid by time so at least I was making money. Unfortunately, I was also wasting gas.
