Dasher Diary: Amarillo Delivery Drivers Share a Simple Request for Customers
I know I have mentioned that delivering in Amarillo can be a lot easier if customers did one thing. If they helped to make dropoff easier by providing important information. This information can certainly speed things up.
It gets the food to the customer much faster. One thing I have mentioned before is to give us not only the address but also the name of the place. If we are delivering to a business, a hotel, or an apartment, the name of the place makes things so much easier.
What Makes Deliveries Harder in Amarillo
A lot of times, these places are close to others, and we have to hunt for the correct suite number or the correct hotel property. The name makes things so much easier.
Truck Stop Deliveries Are a Challenge
Then there are the times that we have to deliver to truck stops. I get it. We can be a lifeline for a trucker who can't leave the area. They may be tired of truck stop food and would love other options. We don't mind giving those options.

We would appreciate making the drop-off smoother by giving us the information to find you. Or the driver can choose to meet us at the entrance of the store. Something simple. Recently, I had a delivery that I knew from the beginning would be a headache.
The Importance of Clear Instructions
The drop-off instructions at the location had no information. Usually, they leave detailed instructions on how to find them. Either by giving truck information or where they are parked.
This one had nothing. As I got closer, there was a message kind of trying to help, but it didn't really, as I had to call the customer upon arrival. The message told me he was at the TA by the fuel pumps in a white truck.
When I got to the TA and got near the fuel pumps, there were several white semi trucks in all directions. So, I had to call. I had to explain that I couldn't find him because there were many white semi trucks nearby.
How You Can Help Drivers Out
He had to get out of his truck and flag me down. I mean, that was just the way it was going to have to be. If you want your food, help me find you. That is all we really want is to find you in a timely manner so you can get your food, and we can be on our way to making more money.
