This is not the first time that Amarillo has seen rain like this. The thing is that it has been quite a long time. So we tend to remember all of the issues we have. There of course has been a lot of flooding.

There have been a ton of roads that have had to close because of all the rain. The lakes like Lawrence and McDonald's cup have runneth over and that water has to go somewhere. So where does it go? Where it wants to which means on our roads.

We have seen 45th and Coulter close during this recent storm. Then there was the area around Lawrence Lake that caused a lot more issues. So businesses have had to be affected by all the water.

What do you do? If you are Amarillo businesses you have a sense of humor about it. I mean what else can you do? This is not something that happens all the time so make the most of it. Get some likes and a few laughs on social media. That is the world that we live in.

Likes, shares, and follows are what get the humor around. Two businesses on Paramount/Olsen have taken this all with a grain of salt. They are making lemonade out of those lemons I guess.

They have had to close some because the water was just too much to get down the street. So we might as well get a smile out of it.

Hummer's Sports Cafe turned its water log into a beach club for a few days while they could.

Then they just had to close for a few days.

Tyler's Barbeque also had some fun with the flooding.

We are getting the rain now but anyone who has lived here knows this too shall pass. We will go back to complaining about the heat. We will complain about the mosquitos. We will just be happy to get rid of the lake that right now we call Amarillo.
